Nintendo of America president talks about Switch Joy-Con issues

In a recent interview with president of Nintendo of America , Doug Bowser, tells us about some problems that many users have been witnessing when purchasing a Nintendo Switch Joy-Con.

The issues are associated with Nintendo’s Joy-Con controllers which are still a problem for Switch users. However, does the company plan to carry out any hardware redesign to combat these problems? Polygon held a meeting with the president of Nintendo of America, Doug Bowser, they asked him several questions about this problem.

Nintendo Joy-Con

In response, Doug explained how Nintendo always closely inspects what is shipped and for what reasons, to better understand what was happening to the hardware in the ship, so that later improvements could be made in the future. . Below is Polygon’s question and Bowser’s response on the subject:

Polygon: Obviously, Nintendo has a longstanding reputation for really strong hardware, but this is something that hasn’t disappeared. I know they offer free repairs for people; they can send their Joy-Cons by mail. It feels like this is still, like, a band-aid that was put on him. And I wanted to know, in the long run, if there are any hardware designs planned to address this so that when people buy a new Switch, they don’t necessarily worry, “Hey, I’m going to need to ship my Joy-Con every six months or so. ? ”.

Doug Bowser’s response to the failure of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con

Doug Bowser: First of all, we want all consumers to have a great experience with their Nintendo Switch and with games on Nintendo Switch. That is of the utmost importance to us. Our mission is to put smiles on faces. And we want to make sure that happens. If consumers have a problem with our hardware and / or software, we want them to contact us, we will work on the appropriate solution to get them up and running as quickly as possible.

Although he gave a generic answer, it is evident that it was to calm the complaints of users. Bowser then responds regarding the Joy-Con.

Specifically for the Joy-Cons themselves, we have been working very closely with consumers when they might have issues, be it a replacement or repair. And then what I’ll say, as we look at our repair cycles, we’re always looking at what’s shipped and for what reasons, and we understand that better. And without going into details, it always gives us the opportunity to make improvements as we go along.

While Nintendo has not yet found a definitive solution to the problem in question. Some adjustments have been made, such as reducing the price of the Nintendo Joy-Con in the month of October. They have also been drawn into a series of legal battles this year, as a result of faulty drivers.

It is possible that some of us have experienced these types of problems when using the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controls, and if so, perhaps it would be best to invest in another product that guarantees quality and not faulty errors. So take the above into account!
