For many players, WoW WOTLK, known as World of Warcraft: The Wrath of the Lich King will remain their favorite version of the game. There are hints from Warcraft’s official Instagram account pointing that retail WoW Classic: WotLK might be in development, but it can take more than a year until such a task is achieved.
Throughout the years, there were many popular Private WoW Servers, offering WOTLK, ones known as Warmane, Dalaran-Algalon, Sunwell’s Angrathar and many others, but all of these declined with the release of World of Warcraft: Classic and WoW Classic: The Burning Crusade, as the retail Classic version absorbed much of the populace.
For those who are willing to experience Wrath of the Lich King once again, can do so on Synergie.gg – it is a new project which is the combined effort of two popular WotLK Private Server teams: Whitemane.gg and Sunwell.pl. Both of the teams were hosting highly popular WotLK servers in the past, known as Angrathar and Mograine.
Sindragosa is the main realm of the Synergie project, allowing players to experience the WOTLK content in two ways: starting as level 1 and starting as level 68, delving directly into Northrend while bypassing the former TBC and Vanilla content. The realm was released on 13th November 2021 and right now it peaks with about 5000 active players.
Suffice to say, former popular WOTLK servers were known to last up to several years, example taken from Warmane’s Icecrown which is still popular server, 5 years of its release, while Dalaran’s Algalon was lasting for 7+ years, meaning, even though Sindragosa is a private server, it will be here to stay until Blizzard releases retail WotLK.
