When you’re talking about comic books and everything that goes with them, DC Comics is one of the most prominent names in the space. To many, DC Comics are the best, as they’re not only one of the largest comic book companies but also one of the originals. And 2023, like every other year, is set to be another great year, with plenty to come for fans to get stuck into.
For those who aren’t necessarily in the know, DC Comics isn’t a company that sticks to producing comic books. Instead, comic books, films, games and more feature DC Comics characters and storylines. So, it doesn’t matter what type of content someone prefers; they will be able to consume the great work of DC Comics in some way, shape and form, especially in the modern era.
Starting with movies, which do end up tying into the gaming side, it’s going to be an excellent 2023. Already confirmed are films such as Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. DC Comics movies always go down a hit, and they all run to a schedule, which means everyone gets to see fresh instalments of the characters and stories they want to see at the right time.
DC Comics movies are great. There’s no getting away from that. However, more recently, DC Comics-inspired games are beginning to hit the heights, and are played by more gamers year after year. And the influence of DC Comics in the gaming arena, in general, is that big; there is influence beyond traditional video games, with going as far a field as the gambling industry, where several online slot games have been based on superheroes and the like.
Akin to what we see with DC Comics and movies, there’s also a schedule in place for DC Comics games in 2023. And one of the most anticipated titles is Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. In this one, players will take on the role of the Suicide Squad and then attempt to take down the Justice League, which happens to feature some of DC Comics’ most iconic characters.
And there’s set to be a single-play open-world experience set to drop, where players can take control of Wonder Woman. It’s not too often that female leads open-world gaming experiences, so not only is this great in that respect, but it’s Wonder Woman, one of DC Comics’ most iconic characters. There’s set to be plenty of action in this one, and the game is also said to be set in the DC Universe, making use of an original story.
So, as you can see, 2023 is going to be another massive year for DC Comics and fans of the company’s work. And it doesn’t matter if you prefer comic books, movies or games, or a combination of them, as there will be new content across the board that will be sure to hit the spot.
