Once you have your terracotta, you can dye it by placing eight terracotta pieces on a workbench around a dye of any color. It will return eight blocks of that terracotta in that color. You can also get Colored Terracotta by trading an Emerald with a Mason Villager.

Creative mode in Minecraft Pocket Edition (PE) is a great place to try out new designs, especially since you have all the resources at your fingertips. Terracotta Blocks are one of the resources listed in the Creative Inventory menu. Check in the Build section for PE versions 1.2 – 1.16.20. If you have an old version (0.14.1 – 1.1.3) of Minecraft PE, you can check in the Building Blocks section.

Alternatively, you can use a kiln to make terracotta blocks. All you need is a block of clay, a source of fuel, and of course, a furnace. However, this can take a bit of time, as each block takes a few minutes to “cook”.

If you don’t have the crafting materials to make terracotta, there are other ways to find it. Terracotta spawns naturally in Badlands biomes. Also known as Mesa biomes, Badlands biomes are primarily made up of red sand, terracotta, and stone. In particular, if you are traveling through desert biomes, you may encounter a Badlands biome along the way.

The first step in making terracotta is to make blocks of clay. You can create a block of clay by combining 4 pieces of clay on any type of crafting grid. Clay generally has this reputation in Minecraft, as some players also struggle to figure out how to make bricks out of the same material.
